Fat grafting is a technique that takes out surplus fat cells from the patient’s body (usually the abdomen or thighs) and re-implants those cells as required. It is known by many names, including liposculpture, free fat transfer, autologous fat transplantation, micro-lipo injection, and more. Some of the most common examples of its use include fat transfer for filling facial features and breasts.
It has multiple advantages, such as the elimination of allergic reactions because of the autologous nature of the fat cells that are re-implanted into the patient’s body. In other words, since the fat comes from the patient’s own body, their body naturally accepts the injected cells. This makes the procedure different from other implant surgeries that involve external implant substances. This technique is also called Autologous Fat Grafting and has gotten very popular around the world as it is minimally invasive.
